As a teacher, Mike is fully aware of the pressure that teachers are facing. We are being asked to:
No wonder more teachers are taking extended sick leave, retiring early, or changing careers within the first five years of graduating.
In mid February 2012, the Grattan Institute released their report on the state of the education system in Australia.
Amongst a range of suggestions, the authors stressed the need for targeted professional development and an increased opportunity for teachers to collaborate.
This series of online training aims to equip teachers with the tools necessary to increase the motivation and engagement of their students whilst simultaneously building their network of teachers with whom they can collaborate and share resources.
This course takes a look at some fascinating research on what motivates and engages students.
This course is not just theory! You will get a proven system, developed in the classroom and used by thousands of teachers around the world.
As a part of the course, teachers are given time to develop an individual action plan to change their class culture resulting in students who are more motivated and engaged.
This course builds on the foundational principles learned in the ‘How to Motivate, Manage & Engage Your Students’ course.
This course takes teachers step by step through a range of free online programs that always leave the participants saying ‘Wow, I had no idea you could do that’.
Each session has been designed to be long enough to for you to grasp and apply the concepts without feeling rushed but also short enough so as not to use up too much of your precious time.
During these sessions we will look at some fascinating research that challenges our ideas of what motivates people. You will find yourself applying these principles both in your personal and professional life!
Mike is a Google Certified Teacher with over 10 years experience in a range of teaching environments. The principles learned in these courses have all been developed in the classroom with REAL students not derived from a textbook.
As a teacher you don’t need more strategies. You need a comprehensive plan that will enable you to dramatically decrease your classroom management problems and radically increase your students engagement and motivation
This manual has been designed to be a resource that you use time and again, not sit on your bookshelf gathering dust.
Rather than just attending a whole day of training then being left alone to implement your ideas, you can try out your ideas and strategies and then attend a 30 minute Q&A session before the start of the next class to ask any questions and share ideas with other teachers.
One of the greatest aspects of our training is the opportunity teachers have to build their professional learning networks. We love seeing teachers connect; but love it even more when classes start to collaborate on projects as a result of the relationships teachers have built!
Many education departments require their teachers to undergo continuing professional development. We can work with your accrediting body to ensure that your hours contribute to your ongoing professional development. For teachers in NSW, both courses are accredited with the NSWIT.
As soon as the How to Motivate, Manage & Engage Your Students course is finished we will be running our follow up course titled “A Teachers Guide to Using Technology in the Classroom” During this course Mike will show you a range of free resources you can use with your students that have teachers and students alike saying “Wow, I never knew that was possible!”

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the question. Will reply to your email address.
Mike
Hi Mike,
Just wondering if you do any sessions AT schools? In particular the “A teachers guide to effectively using technology in a classroom”.
Cheers
Steph
Hi Steph
I sure do. You can check out http://teacherstraining.com.au/staff-development-days/ for a bit more information. I will also send you an email with some more information.
Hi Mike – Just a quick question relating to the technology in the classroom course that you offer – would it be appropriate for teachers who are teaching K-2 in a primary school or is it more geared for older students. Do you have a more detailed overview of what that course does offer that you could possible send me ? Thanks
Hi Jody
Thanks for the question.
I will email you some more details
Hi just wondering how the online course operates? Do you have to watch it live or can you complete it at your own convenience and start it at any time?
Thanks
Helen
Hi Helen
You can engage with the course either way. Most people join each session as it is happening live as they can benefit from being able to ask questions and share ideas. There are a few people who miss the odd session due to other commitments, and a few who just watch when they can.
Its totally up to you.
If you have any other questions just let me know
Mike
Hi Mike,
Am keen to do both courses online but noticed that first one is already 3 weeks in. Is there a plan to redo at a later date this year?
Mandy
Hi Mandy
The motivation course finishes next week and the technology course runs until the middle of December.
Both courses will run again at the beginning of next year, probably starting mid February. You could still participate in the technology course this year and participate in the motivation course next year if you like. I’ll send you an email with the details.
Hi there,
Could you please email me with a more detailed course synopsis if possible? I am interested in the technology in the classroom course.
Thanks a lot
Jo
Hi Jo
Sure. Will send you an email now.
Mike
Can you advise on the transferability of the technology use; iPads, laptops, androids etc…?
ta
Hi Damon
Not sure if you mean the programs I demonstrate or the technology I use to deliver the training. I’ll send you an email to discuss this further.
Hi Mike, still can’t find the PDF link.
